Marcus Aurelius's quote has stood the test of time and led to phenomenal books like Ryan Holiday's, "The Obstacle is the Way."  The premise is simple.  When most people try to avoid obstacles, you should embrace them.  Take them head on. Conquer them.  In doing so, you quell your own fears, up-level your abilities, and forge your own path.

Worry is nothing but wasted energy.  There are only two types of things:  Things you cannot control and things you can control.

If something is beyond your control, there is nothing you can do about it.  Whatever happens will happen.

All that is left is your reaction to it. 

You can control what you do.  How you act or react.
